You can seek help by talking to a trusted friend or family member, joining a support group, such as Gamblers Anonymous, or seeking professional help. If you can\u2019t afford to pay for a therapist, there are free resources available online, including video and phone counseling. You can also call a national hotline for help and support. You can also try postponing the urge to gamble and distract yourself with a different activity. This will give you time to refocus your thoughts and may allow the craving to pass or weaken. If you can\u2019t resist the temptation to gamble, make sure to set aside a specific amount of money that you will not spend.
